The Summer School events run from Saturday 19th until Saturday 26th July 2025 inclusive.
Beginners’ classes are only available in set dancing, sean nós dancing (juniors ), singing, whistle, fiddle, and bodhrán.
All instrument classes will be graded to ensure that students are in the right class for their ability.
“Fiddlesticks” is an opportunity to try out the fiddle for children aged 7 or over and adults and who haven’t participated in the class before. Various sized fiddles are available. The class size is limited so it is recommended to book early.
The class size is limited so it is recommended to book early.
Children with special needs (both physical and mental) are welcome and encouraged to take part in classes. Children with special needs should try to book as soon as possible and on booking should make the Joe Mooney School aware of their needs. The school is committed to try and make every endeavour to accommodate their needs but unfortunately, in some cases, this may not be possible due to the fact that the Joe Mooney School does not own the classrooms it uses.
Our guest traditional music teachers are leaders/experts in their disciplines, but they have no specific training in being able to identify the needs or accommodate the needs of children with special needs. It is for this reason that children with special needs are required to be accompanied by an adult during the class so that they can get the most from the class in a secure and friendly environment.
